No, really.
After going crazy with, excuse my language, WordPress’ bullshit, I have finally decided to write my first entry. I am listening to ‘Rocket Man’ now, ‘and I think it is gonna be a long, long time...‘ Anyway. Here it is, my blog. Enjoy. Of course, I’m not gonna end it here, it’d be too easy.
Let me talk to you about what this blog is all about.
First of all, it is not exactly a blog. Well, it is, but it is not, at the same time. It is about me, but not just about me. It is more of a ‘website’. So what is this site about? It is obviously about cinema, tv, video games, anime and some other stuff. Why and how, you might ask?
Well, I will talk about them, sometimes criticize them and their ‘world’, and brainstorm about what could be improved and why are some things aren’t the way we wanted with them and how can they be changed. Long story short, the core talk will rotate around the famous phrase: 'What is wrong with this Earth?'
And while I will mainly aim at storytelling, I will also talk about why do we need storytelling and what is its power that even the most enlightened ones of us misses its vast force. I will talk about how it can change the world.
Who am I? I am a student of story-telling. As all we are. I have no boundries when I think about visual story-telling. To me story-telling is so broad that even if I would like to be a successful director one day (which I believe I will be), I can direct a video game with no second thought. I’d like to think I have seen (and played) most of the classics and masterpieces of the mediums so I will mostly know what I’m talking about. I’ll even be so bold as to compare a video game to a movie, a movie to an anime, an anime to a tv show et cetera. (Which is something that should be done more frequently!) I have no idea if there’s any other site that directly does that or how many of them are there, but as I haven’t seen many and as I haven’t even seen any distinct discussions between them, I think this will be a fresh thing for you (not for me tough, I do that in my mind all the time!) and hopefully it will open up new possibilities on the readers' mind.
What I like to do is talk about the state of things, ideas, what makes art beautiful, (stop me anytime) this is not another review/opinion site. At least not just that. Much more than that.
I will also delve into other arts, and everything about art.
As, right now, I am listening to ‘The Universe In Us’ by Tim Besamusca, how incredible of a thing is that? I can’t hope to fathom its greatness. It is the thing that is the next step beyond perfection.
It is these things I will talk to you about, what are masterpieces are made of, how do they exactly affect us. Are they the only thing we need, is the only thing lacking in this world the lack of masterpieces? Is our only goal when watching or playing something, a hope to find a masterpiece? If it is, what do we need do to help to increase the number of masterpieces in the world? What should we do and how should we do it? This is what my blog is all about.
